God’s faithfulness by Amb Samuel Funmilayo

One of the Attributes of God…

When we think of FAITHFULNESS we think of Elderly Couple who has stuck together through thick and thin for 50-60 years.
When we think of FAITHFULNESS we think of THAT PET(DOG) who wants to be by our side no matter what kind of day we are having or what kind of mood we are in.
When we think of FAITHFULNESS we think of that Close Friend who knows everything there is to know about us and still loves us
any way.

But when it comes to FAITHFULNESS, nobody does it better than God, OUR HEAVENLY FATHER.
The Bible is filled with scriptures that remind us of the great FAITHFULNESS OF GOD.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NKJV) Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is
God, the faithful God God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

Psalm 36:5 (NKJV) Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Lamentations 3:22,23 (NKJV) Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

GOD has always been FAITHFUL!
GOD is still FAITHFUL!

And GOD will always be FAITHFUL!
GOD WAS FAITHFUL to provide a ram in the thicket for Abraham’s sacrifice so he wouldn’t have to take the life of his son Isaac.

GOD WAS FAITHFUL to bring Joseph out of the Egyptian prison and place him in a high position in the Egyptian government.

GOD WAS FAITHFUL to bring Noah and his family safely through the flood.

GOD WAS FAITHFUL to bring the Israelites out of Egyptian captivity and to provide them with PROTECTION and PROVISIONS in the wilderness.

GOD WAS FAITHFUL to protect Daniel in the lion’s den. GOD WAS FAITHFUL to spare the lives of Shadrach, Meshech, and Abednego when they were thrown into the fiery furnace. GOD WAS FAITHFUL to care for Elijah when he was so depressed that he begged to die. GOD WAS FAITHFUL to deliver JESUS from the grave by resurrecting Him back to life on the third day.

AND GOD WAS FAITHFUL to deliver us from eternal death through the Sacrifice of His only begotten Son. He is still Faithful in Waking you Up from sleep every morning!!!! I believe most Christians struggle with doubts about God’s faithfulness at times.🤦🏽‍♂

For instance, when we sin and fail
miserably, we wonder how God could possibly still love us and remain faithful to us. Or when we are going through a season
of trials and hardships, we are tempted to believe God has forsaken us. But if we truly believe GOD’S WORD we must believe the GOD OF THE BIBLE IS FAITHFUL TO US AT ALL TIMES

Let’s consider some of the “specifics” of God’s faithfulness.

Psalm 145:13b (NIV) The LORD is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. There is a fact in my Introduction in this Bible study!!

In the first paragraph

Did you know there are over 3,500 promises of God in the Bible? We have all had people make promises to us and then
break those promises. But there is not one single instance in the Bible where God broke a promise.

The LORD is trustworthy in all He promises.

Those times when you feel as though GOD has forsaken you,

remember His promise in Hebrews 13:5 “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.

Those times when you are weak and feel totally defeated remember God’s promise in 2Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.

Those times when you have lost all hope that your situation is ever going to get any better, remember God’s promise in
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Those times when you are so weary and worn out from the trials and troubles of life, remember God’s promise in Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

II. God Is Faithful, Faithful To Deliver Us In Times of Trouble.

Psalm 50:15 (NKJV) Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”. Times of trouble come to all of us. Jesus tells us in John 16:33,
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world.”

Sooner or later, all of us will experience health troubles…..or financial troubles….or relationship troubles….or work-related
troubles…..or marital troubles…..or parenting troubles, etc. You see, our circumstances don’t change GOD’S FAITHFULNESS.

God is just too FAITHFUL

II Timothy 2:13 (NKJV) If we are If we are If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

What a wonderful God we serve.!

Remember in MATTHEW 8 when Jesus was sound asleep in the bottom of the boat when a terrible storm came up on the Sea of Galilee. The disciples cried out, “Lord save us! We are perishing.” And do you
remember Jesus’ response? He said, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea and
everything grew calm.

Just a few chapters over in MATTHEW 14 we find Peter stepping out of the boat to walk on water to meet Jesus. And when Peter

“saw the wind” he began to sink and he cried out “Lord, save me!”

And Jesus responded, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt.”

I don’t know about you, but I can certainly relate to the disciples. There have been many times when my faith was weak.
And I wonder how many times God has shook His head and said, “Oh
Bro Emmanuel, you of little faith, why do you doubt Me?”

Everyone of us goes through trials and troubles that test our faith. Sometimes we pass, sometimes we fail. Aren’t you thankful that GOD IS FAITHFUL even in those times when your faith and mine is not what it ought to be?

God is so faithful that anyone who seeks Him and Find him 1Corinthians 1:9.
For you to Enjoy this Faithfulness of God, You must be closer to him!!!!

Draw near to him and he will draw near to you He has been faithful to You…

You must also be faithful to him..

Its a symbiotic relationship!!!

Without faithfulness to God there can be no Christian life..

Christianity is based first on faith that God is, and then that through Christ Jesus we can be forgiven and are saved. Our faithfulness is a commitment to adhere to the One God who is true and supreme and to keep His commandments. In fact, the first two of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20), deal directly with our being faithful to God.

What are the benefits of faithfulness to God????

  1. Psalm 37:28 – “For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones.”
  2. Proverbs 3:12 – “My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring your prosperity.”
  3. Proverbs 28:20a – “A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.”
  4. Revelation 2:10 – (NKJV) “Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested and will have tribulation ten days.

Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

Be Faithful in Your Family
Be faithful in your relationships
Be faithful with the things He has entrusted to us. Time, Talent, Treasure
Be faithful to the Church

In Summary!
God Has been Faithful…

You must also show total Faithfulness to Him….
